Chaste-berry: This plant is known by a host of other names such as sage tree, monk’s pepper, etc and it is found quite good as a calming agent as well as reduces the intensity and recurrence of migraines.

St John’s wort:  This herb is found to be helpful in treating depression and can be used for long periods of time. However, it has a few side effects, i.e. some women found that it makes their skin oversensitive to sun. In some cases it also interferes with anti-depressant medication.

Ginseng: This herb is mostly used as a relaxant and anti-depressant. It has little effects on hot flushes, but it does relieve to a great extent depression and anxiety bouts.

Valerian roots: This is a good relaxant and sleep inducer – exceptional for menopause insomnia. However, since it has some bad side effects such as delirium and withdrawal symptoms similar to drugs, it has not been recommended for use.

These are only a few of the immense list of the herbal remedy for menopause, and everyday more and more are joining the list. Women prefer the natural, herbal remedy for menopause to the regular treatments because the risks involved are lesser and their efficiency is higher.

In many places however, one therapy may complement the other making the treatment waterproof and restoring control in the lives of the women who are struggling with pre-menopause symptoms.
